Senior Financial Analyst: Green Finance

Contract Type: 12-month renewable contract

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior/Expert Analyst: Green Finance to drive investments in green and sustainable infrastructure projects. This role will develop technical expertise in green finance and support initiatives that accelerate sustainable economic growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop a pipeline of green/sustainable investment projects.
- Conduct feasibility to bankability studies for project development.
- Match projects with funders and financiers, including securing grant funding.
- Design and implement innovative financing mechanisms for green investments.
- Provide policy and regulatory insights to support sustainable investments.
- Lead financial modelling, technical analysis, and strategic problem-solving.
- Engage key stakeholders (government, financial institutions, investment sector).
- Develop and report on impact indicators (climate/green metrics) and risk frameworks (ESG, SDGs).
- Promote market opportunities through business case development and financial feasibility studies.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Postgraduate degree (Masterโs preferred) in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Development Finance, or Business Management.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong background in financial modelling, business case development, and financial structuring (infrastructure financing experience is an advantage).
- Proven track record in structuring funding or securing finance.
- Experience in infrastructure project development, especially in the public sector, is beneficial.
- Knowledge of impact metrics and risk frameworks (SDGs, ESG, Equator Principles, IFCโs Performance Standards).
- Existing network within the finance, infrastructure, and green economy sectors.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (public speaking confidence).
- Ability to lead, direct, and influence external stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for market interventions.
- Strong project management skills (budgeting, planning, stakeholder management).
- High attention to detail and professionalism in reporting and deliverables.
๐ Fluency in Afrikaans, isiXhosa, or isiZulu is an advantage.
Working Conditions
- Full-time role (standard office hours).
- Office-based with regular travel for stakeholder engagements.
- Overtime may be required based on project needs.
- No on-call responsibilities.
